Tune in 6 a.m.-6 p.m. on Thursday, February 29, 2024 for the University Hospital Foundation’s Heart Pledge Day on up! 99.3. Heart Pledge Day is the day we fill the radio waves with the true, inspiring and personal stories of physicians, patients, medical researchers and healthcare providers to raise awareness about the life-saving cardiac care at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute (Maz).
This year, the University Hospital Foundation is raising $625,000 to support the world-class healthcare professionals at the Maz in their fight against cardiovascular disease.
In partnership with up! 99.3
We’re proud to partner with the team at up! 99.3 to share an exciting day of community support. Listen to the music you love, along with stories and experiences from patients to healthcare professionals about the incredible work happening at the Maz every day.
Every year, thousands of supporters from across western Canada flood the phone lines on Heart Pledge Day in support of cardiac care and research at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute. Since 2010, the University Hospital Foundation has partnered with a local radio station to host an annual radio event in February, to raise critical funds that support the most advanced equipment, technology, and work environments in the world.
Funds raised during the event have touched every corner of the Maz and have impacted cardiac patients of all ages.
Community support brings state-of-the-art equipment that provides our highly skilled cardiac team the tools they need to provide exceptional care at every stage of a patient’s journey, making the Maz a world leader in complex cardiac care and surgery.
The Heart Wall
Presented by
With a gift during Heart Month, you earn your chance to wear your heart on your sleeve – or place it on the wall. When you make your donation, provide your name, or the name of a loved one who received care at the Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute, we’ll add it to a heart to be proudly displayed on our heart wall.
Every dollar we receive during Heart Month makes a difference in the lives of the thousands of people who receive care at the Maz each year.
